Today, many people are trying to establish themselves as "experts" in the SEO (search engine optimisation) field. More and more websites are springing up promising you high profits from "proven" SEO gimmicks. But, what's really behind these SEO Experts?

We've all heard the terms "White Hat" and "Black Hat" Marketing. Let's kick off by looking at both and determine which ones are the most effective in the long term!

White Hat SEO marketing techniques are those that are not just effective, but in the long run will help you get more visibility for your website or your product.

While it is tempting to fall into the trap of instant gratification, it is far more effective to consider what happens in the long term.

White Hat Marketing with regards to link building would include some of the following SEO techniques:

A) Hub Pages -- Yes, Hub Pages! Don't just throw them together. Put together a well thought out Hub that clearly defines your products and/or services. Hub Pages are a very effective marketing tool for you and your business. If you do not have your own Hub pages, learn how from some of the best Hub Page Masters!

B) Squidoo Pages -- I know we are on HubPages so why am I talking about Squidoo? It's simple. There is every reason in the world to diversify! If your goal is to create an effective marketing campaign for your service or product, why not take advantage of all of the SEO tools at your disposal? Build a complimentary Squidoo Page to your Hub page and link them together! Don't forget links back to your website while you are creating them!

C) Well Crafted Articles -- So, you have found the perfect topic. In addition to submitting well crafted Hubs and Squidoo pages, you should also find article directories that will help you promote your work! Sites such as Helium and Ezine are perfect White Hat Marketing techniques. Don't make your Hub, Squidoo, Helium and Ezine items all identical. Instead, rework them each a little bit - it doesn't have to be a major rewrite, just make sure that you're presenting something of value!

D) Social Bookmarking -- Don't overdo this! Don't be a 'hit and run' bookmarker! If you sign up for social bookmarking sites be an active contributor! Don't just submit your own work for ranking, get involved and rank others work as well! sites like digg.com and stumbler.com are a great place to get involved with this type of link building. but there are literally hundreds of bookmarking sites.

E) Blog commenting -- Why it may seem like a boring and time consuming task, another one of the most effective ways to build good links to your website or blog is by leaving comments of the blogs of others. But hey, lets not be silly as a comment that says something like nice post is as bad as spam. prove you actually read the post and add a little value and the site administrator will be glad to give you have a link from their blog - if not expect your comments to be deleted fast!

Black Hat SEO is usually defined as techniques that are used to get better search rankings in an unethical manner. Too often, we see people using Black Hat marketing techniques as a way to promote their online businesses. While in the short run some of these techniques might produce results, the long term affects can be devastating!

Black hat techniques are actually similar to white hat with a major exception. They offer no value in return!Her Here are a few examples of block hat techniques.

A) Keyword stuffing - Packing long lists of keywords and nothing else onto your site will get you penalized eventually by search engines, Take a look sometime at the quality of articles that are on the Internet. Many of them are little more than 400 word sales pitches! They offer little or nothing in terms of value. I bet you can recall comments on your own blogs that are just full of keywords or even worse just a list of urls.

B) Useless Web 2.0 pages-- We have all seen them! The Hub Pages and Squidoo Pages, wordpress.com sites and blogger blogs that offer little (if any) substance, but have hundreds of keywords slapped into them and links to affiliate sites that have even less value!

C) Doorway Pages -- A doorway page is basically a “fake” page that the user will never see. It is purely for search engine spiders, and attempts to trick them into indexing the site higher. Often invisible text is also used, putting lists of keywords in white text on a white background in hopes of attracting more search engine spiders. Again, not a good way to impress searchers or search engine spiders.

D) Social Bookmarking Gone Mad-- Too often, people are hiring offshore workers to sign up on social bookmarking sites for the sole purpose of linking to their website. Thousands of links are submitted every minute to these social bookmarking sites. Often when you read these links most of the sentences don't even make sense!

E) Link Farming -- Now some of you may not agree with me on this one, Link-farming, trying to fool the search engines that you are indeed a popular site because there are a hundreds of websites linking to you. Problem is that all the sites cross link to each other and hardly ever are they in the same niche. A poor attempt at search engine optimization..

There are thousands of black hat marketing techniques. Stay away from them! In the long run they will cause you far more damage than they will do good! As you can see Black Hat is definitely NOT what you want your website to be known basically it:

• breaks search engine rules and regulations
• creates a poor user experience directly because of the black hat SEO techniques utilized on the Web site
• unethically presents content in a different visual or non-visual way to search engine spiders and search engine users.

Bring The Fresh is a relatively new Internet marketing program that is primarily about how-to get your websites to rank faster and higher in the SERP's.

As you can probably tell have a pretty big interest in SEO any all things related that help me to get better at search engine optimization.

So let me give you a bit of background as to how I found Kelly and Mike's fresh approach to online marketing.
